Our small group of 11 that took on Amendoeira Faldo on 7 August enjoyed great conditions for golf on a very challenging course. Several did very well in comparison to the group that braved our adventure in the wind last Saturday here at Faldo and scores reflected the difference. Giang Chatelan beat out Peter McMahon with 38 points and a better back nine for first place, and coming in with a solid 36 points put Denis Chatelan in 3rd. Peter McMahon also had the best tee shot of the group on the tricky second hole for nearest the pin honors. The course was very playable with the greens in good shape and some interesting pin placements. Faldo is a golf course that requires one to play solid golf and focus from start to finish to score well. A challenging course that will challenge golfers to play to their handicap no matter what level. Next up, Vale do Lobo Royal on 11 August. See you all there.
Worth the 45 min drive. Fantastic course. Typical Faldo design, good strategic golf required ( or just hit the fairways-easier said than done). True fast greens, lush fairway. Hardly anyone on the course which was nice. Some big carries, even from the yellow tees. Course for the better golfer. Now that I have played it once will go back again and maybe play some of th3 holes a bit differently.
