We had 7 guest today who were most welcome, until, the prize presentation when they scooped the lot with the notable exception of - the always relaible - David Brennan who was nearest the pin at the tricky 8th hole on the back 9 (Olives). Scores were relatively low - 25 pts being popular with 5 players on this number! The winner though was Jayne Skynner with 32 pts. 2nd on 31, playing off 1, was Richard Tomlin. 3rd was Janet Young on 29 with husband Peter in 4th with 27 after a countback with 2 others on the back 9. Al players returned to Chez Carlos Restaurant in Vilamoura for snacks provided, as always, by Felipe and his staff. Lovely atmosphere.
Lovely to play again with the Chez Carlos Golf society after a 18 month absence. Introduced a guest Philip Budden who played his 1st game of golf in the Algarve and he thoroughly enjoyed it and we both enjoyed the banter with our playing partners Tom & Richard. Looking forward to my next visit which could be soon. Thanks to Ron for organising ⛳️
We had a nice morning on Pinheiros Olive & Pine: Nice golf course, friendly staff. We like the practice facilities. Rangeballs are included. A few greens on "Olive" were in bad shape, overall the greens were slow. We rented electric trolleys, they seem to be very old and scrapped. One of the two run out of power after 15 holes. We called the caddy master and he came within 5 minutes with a new battery. When we let a riding group through they told us that last time they had to push their electric trolleys for nine holes.
