We played Vale da Pinta on a beautiful sunny day, but with a 2 clubs wind. The golf course is very beautiful, with all the playing areas well cared for, tees, fairways and roughs. Unfortunately, the greens have a lot of evasive grass, which prevents the ball from having a smooth, consistent roll. Although today there are many houses around the golf course, a landscape still prevails, marked by carob trees and the famous centenary olive trees. Near the 18th green is the most emblematic olive tree with over 1,750 years old.
Philippe Pinel won the tournament with 34pt 19 pt back nine and guest Euan McScotland came in second with 34pt but only 17pt back nine. Nearest the pin on the 5th hole was won by the only lady in the race Gina Newson.
Another day well spent in excellent company. long live to golf. Shame Ryder Cup is not going our way this time.
Very good layout. Lots of good holes each in isolation to the other. Greens were a bit uneven but passable. Enjoyable challenge despite the slow play. No practice area available near the clubhouse and no buggy available until 10 minutes before tee time?
