The best welcome and practice facilities I've ever had/used, but not unsurprising as the course hosts the Portugese Open. The course was being prepared for the Open so there was quite a bit of prep work taking place, with ditches and gulleys for TV cameras being put in place, but the course is fantastic, a great layout and a good number of memorable holes...although the greens were quite slow, and did not always give the truest roll of the ball, which we put down to the fact they were being prepared for the PGA tour Open six weeks later. The course is visually stunning, but there are several really tough tee/approach shots, higher handicappers beware of the numerous 200+ yds carry over water, bushes, etc especially on the back nine and closing holes, this course is definitely one that suits the long straight hitters! Service and welcome were outstanding, a really nice touch that your buggies had personal welcome's with course planners, and a really nice touch that practice balls were free, and set up waiting for you.
